I first learned how to crochet when I was in 7th or 8th grade. Although I loved learning it, I didn’t pick it back up until early Spring of 2023! I randomly found my old yarn and crochet hooks and naturally I still remembered how to chain and single crochet. I quickly realized this was the hobby I’d been needing and missing out on.
Crazy how things come together at the exact moment you need them to!
When I began crocheting I was searching the internet for tips to refresh my learning and knowledge. I watched a lot of helpful videos but I still wanted something I could have at my fingertips with the right information that I could always go back to.
In my search, I found these 3 insanely helpful crochet books for beginners!
I am a visual learner and thrive more with video however, when learning how to crochet it’s best to learn how to read and follow the instructions instead of relying only on video instructions.
After finding my hooks and buying a ton of yarn I began to look for helpful books to guide me in the right direction and provide a crash course on the basics that I didn’t remember.
These crochet books for beginners have helped me improve my understanding of crochet and have taught me so many new stitches! Because these crochet books for beginners are so helpful I have to recommend them to anyone who is beginning crochet and needs all the help and advice they can get!

In this book it houses over 20 stitches and covers the basics as well. It first talks about the items you will need, and guides into the basics.
This book is much smaller compared to the first mention, however, this book is great if you want a smaller dose of stitches to try.
First it starts you out with making a slip-knot, working your chain stitches and then guides you into the stitch you want to make.
It covers the basic stitches such as the single crochet, half-double crochet, double crochet, and treble crochet. It covers decreasing and increasing stitches and even shows you how to make rounds.
